She did what most interviewers would have done. Charge it to experience. Next time you should be at least 15 minutes early. Here are some tips on handling the interview.

?Don't accept coffee, tea or even water even if it is offered; having a drink is a distraction you don't really need right now.

?Show enthusiasm for your present job (even if you are not that excited about it).

?Listen carefully to the question asked. Pause for a moment before answering. Paraphrase the question if you are not sure you understood it.

?If you don't understand the question, ask for it to be repeated.

?Be prepared to explain gaps in your work history.

?Show how you saved a previous employer money and/or generated revenue for the company. Give specific examples.

?Describe, with examples, how you are a team player.

?Make sure that by the end of the interview you've gotten across your strongest skills or characteristics. Be specific about them. It is always a good idea to prove your expertise and personal skills by giving examples.

?Ask intelligent questions of your own. If you've done research about the company, then this should be easy. These questions are important; they show you're really interested in working there. You want to leave a positive, enthusiastic image of yourself. There are other applicants competing for the position. Give the interviewer a good reason to hire you.

?Leave the interview with a good closing impression -- a firm handshake, a smile, good eye contact, a "Thank You", and a closing statement like, "I am very interested in this position," or "When can I expect to hear from you?"

Peace and blessings!

Sorry hun. That's the way the world works.
one minute late is late, 5 is not acceptable!
part of what the manager was looking for in a prospective employee is punctuality, If u can't even show up on time for an interview, why should she believe u could be on time if she hired you?%26gt; the first part of your interview was arriving on time and you blew it!
Late to an interview, late to work. It shows automatically that you are unreliable. She was correct in not giving you the position. First impressions are the most important and look how you showed yourself to be as a potential employee.
Timeliness is just one of the merits on which a potential applicant is judged, along with appearance and presentation.

For future reference, be early (not just on time), wear clothing appropriate for the position applied for, and speak in a professional manner.

Doing so can go a lot further than most people think.
NO excuse... Grow up and take some responsibility. Get a watch and set it 10 minutes fast. Then you will be 5 minutes early. Change your attitude too. I hope that you learned a lesson.

Trying go to the post office or bank 2 minutes after they close.

Your Dad (just kiddin')
nope
Yes, you most certainly should have been excused in my opinion!

When I was on my job hunt, I had an interview with a newspaper organization and on my way, there was a car accident in front of me. I could not have planned for the delay. I left way early but still was going to be about 5 minutes late. I was so mortified that I called from my cell and cancelled the interview (I told them there was an accident on the road, and declined to reschedule although they were nice enough to offer). I realize I am overboard on the punctuality thing, but I just can't think of a worse thing to do in an interview than to show up late to it. It's rule number one! I ended up having an interview the next day at my first choice and got that job, so all worked out and it will for you, too! Just be on time to your next one. Leave 15 mins earlier than you need to get there.
ring them back and say you had a emergency like you crashed your car or had to save a life and ask if you can have another interview
Lateness for an interview is unacceptable. It shows the interviewer that you are not interested in the job.
